Informed health care consumers are more likely to have healthy pregnancies and to effectively space their pregnancies /avoid unplanned pregnancies. In addition, because they are more likely to receive regular, high quality health care, including prenatal care, informed health care consumers are more likely to have potential health problems diagnosed earlier, when they are easier and less costly to treat. This will ensure better health outcomes for mothers and their children in Baton Rouge.
