Adapative Sports Program
(ASP) |
Santa Fe, New
Mexico / $10,000 |
|
Founded in 1985, the mission of
the Adaptive Ski Program is to
enhance the quality of life for
adults and children with
disabilities through outdoor
recreation. Adaptive exercise is
often relegated to physical
therapy settings and relatively
little beyond. The ASP has
recently expanded and now, along
with adaptive
skiing/snowboarding, the program
offers adaptive water sports
including: kayaking, paddle
boarding, sailing, and
water-skiing. All programs are
geared towards children and
adults living with physical and
/ or cognitive disabilities. |

Big Sky Learning |
Santa Fe, New
Mexico / $20,000
(Multiyear Grant) |
|
Modern trends in
education towards
frequent testing (with
no time for hands-on
experiential learning)
have left many children
behind. Over the past
seventeen years, Big Sky
has helped nearly 20,000
students age five to
fourteen feel more
confident as math and
science learners. More
than 500 teens and
nearly 100 teachers have
had transformative
experiences teaching at
Big Sky. Every empty
seat at Build It! is a
missed opportunity for a
child in need. |

Services |
Albuquerque, New
Mexico / $10,000 |

the only community-based
inclusion agency in the area—meaning they provide services

environment in which
stakeholders can: be confident;
support clients’ preference for
services and maximize
their potential in a

institutionalization and,
prolong the independence of our

would be unable to afford
services elsewhere, or would be
