Eden House exists to provide comprehensive recovery services to victims of human trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation through a residential program. We have developed a prevention education program for the general community, with a special longer-term curriculum for at-risk girls, and a social enterprise that provides residents with job experience and skills. We use a victim-centered and trauma-focused recovery approach which not only treats the symptoms of a life of sexual exploitation, but creates a foundation of skills that facilitate the victim's ability to move forward with her life. |

In South Louisiana, more than 380,000 people, including 130,000 children, are unable to consistently access enough nutritious food necessary for a healthy life. We provide families at risk of hunger and poor nutrition with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to purchase and prepare healthy, affordable meals resulting in improved health and wellbeing for the entire family To continue this work, Second Harvest recently partnered with the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services to provide food and nutrition education through the state's SNAP-Ed Program. |
