Jobs for America’s Graduates
Albuquerque, New Mexico / $15,000

Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) is a school re-engagement strategy. The goal of JAG is to help students at greatest risk of dropping out to show up, reconnect, and graduate from high school, ready for further education, career, and life. Our highly trained JAG Specialists are full-time classroom teachers who provide academic support, mentoring, and professional coaching JAG students to help them take charge of their own education so they can get back on track toward graduation. JAG is meeting a critical need in New Mexico.

Kindred Spirits Animal Sanctuary
Santa Fe, New Mexico / $20,000

Each year many elderly dogs, horses and other animals are abandoned in New Mexico. The public and private shelters struggle to place and care for the more than 135,000 animals received each year. KSAS is helping change the social and cultural attitudes toward aging companion animals. In addition to offering a safe and healthy environment for senior dogs, horses and poultry on site, KSAS has developed a model for animal eldercare for shelters and offers educational programs to increase pet guardian’s knowledge of the complete and natural life cycle and aging process for animals.

Girls, Inc. of Santa Fe
Santa Fe, New Mexico / $20,000

Since 1955, Girls Inc. of Santa Fe has given local girls, ages 5-18, the support they need to succeed, including trained professionals who mentor and guide them in a safe, girls-only environment; peers who share their drive and aspirations; and research-based programming. Consistent contact with professionally trained adult mentors has become more important now that the girls and their families are isolated and under extreme stress from loss of income and uncertainty about the future.

Growing Up New Mexico
Santa Fe, New Mexico / $15,000

There is a shortage of infant and toddler care in Santa Fe County. We believe the answer to filling the shortage lies in building a robust support system of home-based childcare providers. Many families are unable to access early education opportunities and tools needed for increased rates of academic and social success. Our Family, Friends & Neighbors Program supports unlicensed/unregistered home-based child care providers in Santa Fe Arriba Counties through home visits, gatherings, and trainings aimed at increasing knowledge of child development and early learning.
